This twiggy shrub 60cm
(2ft) tall grows in acid bog lands. The plants
will from a dense mass of long wiry stems, and
in September and October the fruits, like big
red currants, ripen to brightest crimson with
a delicious sharp taste.
Plant only in low ground, for during summer the
cranberry plant’s roots should be continually
submerged in water. Plant 120cm (4ft) apart.
