Hardy Perennial.
Two feet.
Flowers reddish purple, July to September.
A hardy grower, with spikes of flowers resembling
the Sainfoin of the fields. It forms a shrubby
plant, and may be raised from seen sown in Spring
like a hardy annual. The ordinary form is H. coronarium,
crimson, and H. cor. Album, white; a newer variety,
H. multijugum is taller, with very fine crimson-purple
flower. All prefer a deep soil and an open exposure.
