Inula
Hardy Perennial.
Eighteen inches.
Flowers yellow, July to September.
A glorified Fleabane, with the woolly centre
and finely cut petals of the wild plant; but the
flowers are four or five inches across. The best
varieties are I. glandulosa and I. grandiflora;
both should be planted in the herbaceous or mixed
border in October or February; they only need
ordinary garden soil. After flowering, cut them
down and top-dress round the stems with the usual
autumn mixture.
