Snowflake
– Leucojum
Hardy Bulb.
Fifteen inches to two feet.
Flowers white, in May.
The flower is almost exactly like a large single
snowdrop, but it is borne in a cluster on a stout
stem among leaves resembling those of the taller
Narcissi.
The bulb is absolutely hardy and free-flowering,
and may be left untouched for many years. Plant
four or five inches deep in October, in good loamy
soil. Though a very effective late spring flower,
it is but little grown.
